One Kind of Grace for All Kinds of Sin

As the Pride Festival and Parade rolls on in my city, I am reminded of my own incredible need for God’s grace to forgive, save, and change me. No matter how we sin, all of us are guilty before the living God, straight and homosexual alike. Listen to these striking words from the Bible:

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God (1 Cor 6).

No matter who you are, this passage is staring at you with an intense and unrelenting gaze. The burden of sin clings to our hearts and threatens to shut us out of His Kingdom and pull us into hell. But there is good news for every kind of sinner: There is mercy and hope with Jesus, the Messiah. He lived a sinless life, paid the infinite wages of sin on the cross and He now lives to impart grace to sinners of all stripes. Whoever you are-no matter how you’ve sinned, no matter what you’ve done-look on Him today. If He gives you a sense of your need, turn to Jesus by faith today and you will not be put to shame. Instead you will be able to rejoice with the millions of others who have been transformed by the gospel of grace which says:

“Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.”

I need grace. You need grace. Abundant grace is found in Christ alone. Time is running out.
