Happy Monday. I wanted to share with you a tool I’ve found useful to my prayers and my devotional life, in case helpful to you.
My habit here is three-fold:
1. I daily read some kind of devotional and the scheduled passage(s) of Scripture to read through the Bible in a year.
2. I read from three books per day as well. 25 minutes from a book around a key area of growth I need (Book 1 is now A Praying Life by Paul Miller) Before bed, 10 minutes from a lighter spiritual/doctrinal reading (Book 2 is now The Life of God in the Soul of Man), and then 10 minutes from something fun/fiction/etc (Book 3 is now The 71/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle).
3. Weekly, I’ve found it helpful to focus on five prayer requests/topics which change every week.
Sooooo…I created a simple card to go along with this habit (minus Book 2 and Book 3). The card has a place for recording one devotional insight, a place for recording one key Book 1 Highlight, and then a place to record those five prayer items for the week. The attached file can be printed on cardstock each week, cut down to size, and folded in half for easy travel.
If you choose to incorporate this into your plan, let me know how it goes.
If you choose to ignore this suggestion, then I guess we can’t be friends and what you’re saying is that you don’t love me or care about my dreams. Fine then…
Anyway, have a good day.
